Japanese term or phrase: ~を3回共沸する
The sentence I am trying to translate is part of a synthesis process. Here it is:

化合物3にトリエチルアミンを加え、ヂメチルフォルムアミドで3回共沸した。

I do not understand "azeotrope" used as a verb. I've been saying "form an azeotrope three times using dimethylformamide" but that makes no sense to me. And this phrase 共沸する appears everywhere in my document! Any help you can give will be SUPER APPRECIATED!! Thank you.

To form triple azeotrope

Explanation:
I found an expression "to form triple azeotrope" as one of methods of separating the components of an azeotropic mixture by distillation after adding one more component. I found it in Russian Wikipedia, so I cannot even link it here, but does this make any sense?
