Additional pension benefit amount due to postponement of payout Explanation: According to the Japan Pension Service website, under the Japan’s pension system, a person can choose to start receiving his pension benefits earlier or later than 65 years of age. The later he waits to start collecting, the larger the monthly payments will be. The U.S. has something similar, which the Social Security Administration calls “delayed retirement credits”.
