1 | Shoutai C Gothic |

Shoutai C Gothic Explanation: I am guessing - I couldn't find a 100% reference. This is probably not a very commonplace font. Not to be confused with Shotai (書体). |

Here are some options... Explanation: Hi Casey, I cannot give you specific answers, because there is no context specified. Is it a font specification being sent to a pirnt shop as part of instructions? Or, is it a description of a font sample page? Anyway, here is what I know about fonts: 正体 is normal or standard, as opposed to italics. This part is easy. As for 中ゴシック体, assuming this is a Japanese gothic font, (there are western versions, which have different characteristics). there are several 中ゴシック体 fonts available from several companies/designers. One of the most popular ones is from Morisawa, called Chu Gothic BBB. People call it Gothic BBB medium or Chu Gothic BBB medium, but the official name is Chu Gothic BBB. (http://www.morisawa.co.jp/english/font/chugo.html). Mac OS has several Japanese fonts installed, and one of them was 中ゴシック, and this was called GothicBBB-medium. I'm not sure they still have it or not. So, if you can ask your client which company this font belongs to, then you sure can find the English name too. It could be Chu Gothic BBB or something from another company. If not, or if it is not significant, it may be safe to say Chu Gothic, normal. |
