And, this is what "truck scale pit " is: http://www.websterscale.com/concrete_pages/webster_scale_tru... In the US, there is a weigh station along the highway and ccertain types of vehicles (tractor-trailor??) have to make a stop for a weigh in. I wonder those stations have a pit like this...
