Norwegian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng
Norwegian term or phrase: skinnekryss
I am translating a document from English into French

HOWEVER, this document comes from the Norwegian. I am struck on this word "skinnekryss"
The person who ordered the translation to me said :

"Regarding the mysterious term ... this is our Norwegian linguist's explanation, hope it will be helpful.

the texts contained a number of specialized technical terms. This was one of them.
I have researched the subject. “Track traverser” appears to be the closest translation of the Norwegian “skinnekryss”,
and appears to refer to a device that is installed on two tracks that cross or intersect each other.
The term “track traverser” is in common usage in such contexts."

But I was asking for help here - everybody seems to agree that this "track traverser" does not exist in English.

The document I have is about transformers in electrical power station. It is in a list of document presenting a diagram of each part of the shaft of the transformer.

Many thanks for you help

Although "skinne" can mean "bus" in the electro-technical context, I can only find "skinnekryss" used in connection with railway switches, so it is probably not the correct term for your context. It's not really my field of expertise. There may be some of the others who frequent this site that can help you.

crossover

Explanation:
This refers to crossovers between windings in electrical transformers
Similar to railway crossing points but quite different, of course.
If you search for electrical transformer crossovers, you will get several references, of which my reference below is one.
