Norwegian term or phrase: Kateterlevert klaff/plastikk
This is in a list of types of replacement heart valves (hjerteventiler) and rings for valvuloplasty (ringer til klaffeplastikk). I have been wondering if "klaff" might mean "leaflet" rather than "valve" in some contexts. I have also wondered if klaff/plastikk should be "klaffeplastikk," but that is a type of procedure and this is a list of concrete objects.

catheter-delivered leaflet/plastic

Explanation:
Hi Alice. I think you're on track with "leaflet" here.

See the first link below for anatomy of the heart with "leaflets" as detailed in the example sentences. Second link is source for the second example, which involves a leaflet fastener delivered by a catheter.

Well, it's a good thing I'm not your cardiac surgeon. It turns out that entire valves are now being delivered by catheter, which I didn't think possible: http://www.mayoclinic.org/news2009-mchi/5359.html

So, "valve" might indeed be the right choice here.

Example sentence(s):
  • Valves are actually flaps (leaflets) that act as one-way inlets for blood coming into a ventricle and one-way outlets for blood leaving a ventricle. Each valve has three flaps (leaflets), except the mitral valve, which only has two flaps.
  • Building on the Alfieri surgical technique, leaflet fasteners perform edge to edge "bow-tie" mitral valve repair using a catheter-delivered leaflet fastener.
