Not sure exactly what "eie" refers to in this context though, so perhaps something else can be used in place of "possessions"

Explanation:
This is just a suggestion. Maybe this could fit.
I would rather say "in return" instead of "in exchange"..
because it seems to me that he in a way just returns back to the Lord what already is His. He just in a way "responded" to God. But that is just an opinion.
