The foregoing post concerns a tube of ointment. There is a tamper-evident seal over the mouth of the tube, but there is also a simple plastic ring around the neck of the tube. The ring is loose, is only held in place by the cap which is screwed onto the neck, and has nothing to do with preventing tampering. When you unscrew the cap, the ring just falls off. You then replace the cap, and, without the ring in place, the cap can be screwed down further, until a protrusion inside the cap pierces the seal.

DIRECTIONS: For topical oral use. To pierce tube, unscrew cap, remove and discard plastic ring, and then screw the cap firmly back onto the tube, piercing the seal.
