Wykonane tabletki o szybkim uwalnianiu, dzięki ich krótkiemu czasowi rozpadu, pozwoliły na zbadanie wpływu pH na szybkość uwalniania substancji czynnej z postaci leku. Minimalizując wpływ substancji pomocniczych oraz siły nacisku stempla na uwalnianie (bardzo krótki czas rozpadu tabletki) wykazano, że czynnikiem limitującym ilość dostępnej substancji czynnej w miejscu wchłaniania jest pH środowiska. Wraz ze wzrostem pH zaobserwowano zwiększenie rozpuszczalności substancji czynnej. Powlekanie minitabletek powłoką nierozpuszczalną w kwasie solnym, pozwala na uwolnienie substancji leczniczej w początkowym odcinku jelita cienkiego. Tabletki SR dzięki ich budowie matrycowej spowalniają uwalnianie substancji czynnej z postaci leku. Powyższe wyniki pozwalają na ocenę, jaka jego ilość i po jakim czasie uwolni się w danej części przewodu pokarmowego.
