impactor method Explanation: Propozycja. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 mins (2018-11-27 16:11:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Introduction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microbiological quality of the air at the selected places which are located in Cracow and also to determine the influence of weather conditions, such as temperature, humidity and pollination on the number of microorganisms. Material and methods. Samples of air were taken during spring, summer, autumn and winter. The analyses were carried out by using a single-stage MAS-100 impactor (Merck) and repeated three times. Results were compared to guidelines which are included in Polish Standards. Results. The results of the study suggest that there is correlation between seasons and number of microorganisms. Moreover the number of microbes depends on location. The highest concentration of all groups of microorganisms occurred in summer and autumn. Conversely the lowest number of microbes occurred in winter. The results indicated that the composition of bioaerozol is typical and consists of fungi: Cladosporium spp., Mucor spp., Penicillium spp., Alternaria spp., Trichothecium spp., Fusarium spp., bacteria: Micrococcus spp., Diplococcus spp., Tetracoccus spp., Streptobacillus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and actinomycetes. Conclusions. The results revealed that there is a big difference in the occurence of microorganisms and it depends on season and location as well. However our study indicates that air does not pose a microbiological threat to runners. Materiał i metody. Powietrze do badań pobierano wiosną, latem, jesienią i zimą 2014 r., metodą uderzeniową przy użyciu impaktora typu MAS-100 (Merck). Analizę wykonano w trzech powtórzeniach, wyniki porównano z wytycznymi zawartymi w Polskich Normach. Wyniki. Zidentyfikowano grzyby należące do rodzajów: Cladosporium, Mucor, Penicillium, Alternaria, Trichothecium i Fusarium. Wśród bakterii zidentyfikowano Micrococcus spp., Diplococcus spp., Tetracoccus spp., Streptobacillus spp., Staphylococcus spp. oraz promieniowce. Wnioski. In the impactor method, the air stream is passed through a slit into a culture medium and adhesive microscopic slide or tape strip is used to collect the sample (Zhen et al., 2009). Slit samplers, single stage impactor, multistage impactor, Burkard, rotorod, Andersen, SAS, casella, sierra marple impactor and centrifugal samplers are the common impactor samplers used. The air flow rate is about 2–180 L/min (Engelhart et al., 2007). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3730554/ cccccccccccccccccccc Collection of samples. Samples of atmospheric air, to be used for mycological quantitative analyses, were collected at selected measuring stations from April to August 2002 in monthly intervals as well as in October 2002 and February 2003, each time in three measuring series. The air samples were collected with two methods: the sedimentation method following the recommendations of the Polish Norm [8], and the >impactor method with a microbiological air sampler MAS 100 Eco TM by MERCK [12]. http://www.ejpau.media.pl/volume9/issue1/art-14.html |
