"Produto fanstasioso", would mean, literally, "fictitious product", but this expression does not sound right. In portuguese it is also normal to say "fruto da imaginação", as in "a fruit of your imagination", for this kind of expressions. "produto" is the same as "Product", but in this case it seems to be saying that the animals are not imagined, they are real, but not adressing to them as beings with will, therefore translating "produto" as "work" can be a good way of preserving this subtle characteristic of the language.
