History / Portuguese Inquisition
Portuguese term or phrase: Abjuracão em fórma
In Inquisition Lists of accused persons they are listed under the kind of abjuration them make.
I am trying to prepare a glossary of inquisition terminology so historians and people searching for ancestors can understand better.

English translation:'Em forma' (unconditional) abjuration
Explanation:

Thank you so much, this is very helpful. I will have to include the English, but this is much clearer to me now. Great.

abjuration in forma

Explanation:
"Abjuration takes place in three ways: de levi, de hementi (sic), and in forma... The abjuration de vehementi is done when there exist against the party proved charges implying guilt, and the abjuration in forma is when the accused is fully convicted of error or heretical apostasy..."

NOTE: There is a typo in the entry. It should have no diacritical mark. Correct form: abjuração em forma.

Abjuração em forma
Abjuration de formali

Explanation:
Os tipos de abjuração:

https://books.google.com.br/books?id=i9sLYOa5z44C&pg=PA52&lp...

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01044d.htm
...three sorts of abjuration were practised:
Abjuration de formali (of formal heresy), made by a notorious heretic or apostate;
de vehementi (of strong suspicion of heresy), made by a Catholic strongly suspected of heresy;
de levi (of slight suspicion of heresy), made by a Catholic slightly suspected of heresy.

Também conforme o livro "The Inquisition in New Spain, 1536–1820: A Documentary History":
https://books.google.com/books?isbn=1421404494
Abjuration de formali was issued when the proof and evidence convicted the prisoner of heresy, but the prisoner was penitent and not a relapsed heretic.
