De acordo com Follador{, a Corte de Justiça entendeu adequada a incidência da isenção contida no art. 135, n°1, “e”, da Diretiva 2006/112/CE, entre outros motivos, pelo fato de que “(...) as diferentes versões linguísticas (...)” do dispositivo “(...) não permitem determinar, sem ambiguidade (...)”, se a isenção se aplica “(...) somente às operações relativas às divisas tradicionais, ou se, pelo contrário, incide também sobre as operações que implicam outra divisa.”
