Portuguese term or phrase: uma arvore de pau
Hi everyone! I'm translating a script involving forest management in the Amazon. What would 'pau' be here? Does it refer to 'pau brasil' or is it more general? Thanks for your help!

However, it looks like your text refers to a bigger tree.

-> thanks Muriel. I've been working with ebony, pau santo, rosewood, and various other harwoods for a while now, and there is such a variance in the nomenlature at a carpentry level that it is almost impossible to pin one term down without the taxonomy.
