As I don't usually work with medical translations, I am not sure, but I do have an 81 year old mother, so I know bit about taking care of elderly people.

Explanation:
It doesn't look like the Portuguese, but from the context I think this is the right idea. Many security services have a system for checking to make sure the person is OK--i.e., making sure they are alive. It's not always a phone call. In nursing homes, the seniors have card or something like it that the hang on the doorknob when they get up in the morning.

This is a stretch, but this feature is the only one missing from the list of services in the Asker's text, and it's a very common feature.
