Mmmm.. I don't think I've ever heard the term "elder sitters", it doesn't sound right to me. It kind of implies that they are sitter which are old, not people who take care of the elderly if you see what I mean. I think "carers" could be an option. can you provide more context?

Asker: it´s just a term the author of the article writes, it´s related to support groups, social work-related, if t helps. but i´m guessing here it´s a term they came up with.
