English translation:solid revolutionary tradition
Explanation:
My hardback Aurélio "Novo DIcionário da Língua Portuguesa" gives the following alternative definition of "lastro" - besides 'ballast':

4. fig., "assento, base, firmeza"

Alsol, I think the anchoring and heaviness of "lastro" is captured in 'tradition''.

Thank you to all answerers. I'm choosing this one as the closest; not "tradition" itself, but for the suggestions of "root, anchoring, foundation".

"lastro" in the sense of "reserve" as in currency gold reserve, I believe the author is making this allusion here....it couldn't be "ballast" which obviously is the main meaning of "lastro"

Wow ethics gradient I guess we disagree, this thread was actually created to come up with new suggestions on how we can impact the working class more instead of being isolated amongst ourselves, debating about history, just waiting on a spontaneous revolution with no **revolutionary backing.** I don't know how a pro-revolutionary anarcho-syndicalist/anarcho-communist organization could be classified as "leninist. Also I think if non-leninist parties took the time out to explain that the Soviet Union was state capitalist and how it wasn't communist it would inspire many to look up information,it happened to me.
