Portuguese term or phrase: que jeito?!
This is a line of dialogue that is a bit of a non sequitur, as the character speaking is scattered, and her interlocutor is trying to follow her. So unfortunately, I have very little (helpful) context. The speaker says: "Diante disso, que jeito?!, voltemos, voltemos... Fui inventar que precisava dizer algo sério..." I'm wondering both about that "que jeito," which is an expression I'm not familiar with, but also the construction of "fui inventar." Does it mean something along the lines of "I was getting it in my head that I wanted to say something serious"? Thank you!
