'Na praia do Pedrógão, mantém-se viva a faina da arte de xávega, técnica de pesca artesanal, típica desta região e uma das mais antigas do país.'

From what I gather, this is a traditional Portuguese fishing activity. Can it be translated? Somehow, it doesn't feel right to leave it as it is.
