Elle est responsable de son activité devant le gouverneur de la province » (art. 29, décret-loi n° 17/99). L’Administration municipale est une institution déconcentrée qui assure la réalisation locale des attributions de l’Administration locale de l’État. À ce titre là, elle a notamment pour rôle d’« orienter les Administrations communales dans la réalisation des tâches qui leurs sont confiées » (art. 30.2.g., décretloi n° 17/99). L’Administration municipale est présidée par l’administrateur et composée d’un administrateur adjoint et des administrateurs des communes.
