A Baleeira açoriana - à vela e a remos.
Estas baleeiras foram utilizadas na Madeira entre 1941 e 1956.
Eram tripuladas por 7 homens, designadamente, o mestre que tomava a sua posição à popa e era o responsável pela manobra da embarcação e pela condução da caçada; à proa sentava-se o arpoador; os restantes 5 homens eram remadores e auxiliavam o arpoador nas caçadas, manejando a linha.
Estas baleeiras tinham a bordo as seguintes peças:

Mastro, *bombo*, bombo da giba, vela;
6 remos e 6 pagaias;
Esparrel;
