demarcare,
v. tr. ‘segnare, tracciare’ (1799, Assemblee della Rep. Cisalp.: Leso 498).

Não tendo um vocábulo próprio que expresse a mesma significância, é comun no italiano designar com "attività di..." e de fato as "picadas" indicam essa atividade de demarcação do território.
