Context:
”Suntem încă în ţara lui “Papură-Vodă” şi se pot “da tunuri” chiar şi când vine vorba de dezvoltare de brand-uri.”

”A da tunuri” în context nu are vreo conotație negativă, trebuie să exprim faptul că în România un brand se poate afirma mult mai ușor decât în străinătate, unde piețele sunt mai puternic dezvoltate dpdv economic. Deci fără legătură cu șmenurile și șușanelele de prin presă :)

Daca vrei intelesul de "tunuri" exista si expresia "fire the cannon" care a mai fost folosita ca traducere pentru "a da tunuri" cu explicatia:
"fire the cannon" signifies becoming rich/successful quickly by taking an action that benefits from the advantage of certain short time opportunities..
