Romanian term or phrase: Cenzorat
Eu am gasit pe eurlex cenzor tradus ca auditor, dar in documentele in romana apar si auditori si cenzori. Cum se face diferenta?

Auditing (by an external auditor)

Explanation:
More context would be desirable.
In general, "cenzorat" is external auditing; whereas "audit" may be either internal or external auditing, i.e. auditing conducted by internal personnel or by external personnel (possibly in one or more external auditing firms).

Notes to answerer
Asker: Another proz thread that I found in the meanwhile says that cenzorat is internal auditing Apparently, people in charge of ”cenzorat” are appointed by the General Meeting and seem to receive a salary from the company. These persons seem to be an alternative to contracting the auditing services
