Divinitati Pop... http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paparude The Paparuda "Rain Caller" is the ritual celebrated in Spring on a date that varies from place to place. An old magical dance invoking rain, this customs survived to the present day in many village of Romania. The children knit coronets, adorning them with ribbons. Then they dance, going from house to house. The hostess throws water and milk after them. The children and the young people have to receive a coin or wheat, corn, flour or bean. Am gasit un text chiar despre acest obicei, in engleza: The group of players is not formed everywhere, as it is generally thought, exclusively by girls. A minute description reveals the presence of boys in their teens and sometimes even of lads among those in the ***Paparuda procession*** in the south of Transylvania (especially in the HaŃeg region), in sub-Carpathian Oltenia, in Muscel and in South-Moldavia regions where an intermediate type is to be found, something between Paparuda and the specific Transylvanian Sîngeorz. The requirement of the ritual purity of those forming the group is directly or indi-rectly stressed in most of the information about Paparuda practised by girlfe. But the custom having been taken over by gypsies who would practise it in view of receiving gifts has led to the lessening of the ritual conditioning and to unexpected simplifications. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 zi2 ore (2011-10-30 10:53:43 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Mulțumesc și eu! |
