Oriunde avem un stil, avem „stileme”, aceste stileme pot fi tetracordale pentru muzica vocală a Renaşterii, tetracordul sau hexacordul repliat pentru muzica Barocului, tricordul şi trisonul pentru Clasicism, tipologii mai complexe melodic-armonice pentru Romantism etc. mergând până la tipologiile constructive ale scriiturii dodecafonice.

STILÉM s.n. (Lingv.) Element stilistic considerat ca unitate funcţională. ♦ Frază, construcţie, procedeu stilistic tipic pentru un autor, o şcoală sau o epocă. [Pl. -me. / cf. it. stilema].
