the path of light Explanation: Optica geometrica este un capitol al opticii generale, care studiaza mersul razelor de lumina (modul de propagare) prin diferite medii transparente, fara sa tina cont de natura luminii. Geometrical optics, or ray optics, describes light propagation in terms of "rays". The "ray" in geometric optics is an abstraction, or "instrument", that can be used to predict the path of light. Geometric optics is the study of the path of light rays through systems of lenses, mirrors, and other media. English physicist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton's Opticks published in 1704 formalized the description of image-formation in lenses and mirrors, providing the first thorough study of geometric optics.
