Yes, Tatiana, of course "conception" can mean зарождение - origination, originating. What I was trying to say is that if one encounters "the conception of theories," not to mention "the logic of the conception of theories," the immediate response is to understand it as "понятие о теориях", not as having to do with origination. Maybe, just maybe, the context would guide the reader in the right direction, but the asker provided hardly any context, so we don't know. I believe that's why the other three suggestions (mine, Lilian's, and Katerina's) all correctly made "origin" explicit, because the asker gave no indication that their context was going to help the reader understand it correctly.

Rachel, thank you for the comment. Your opinion is of great value since you are a native speaker. The examples in the link are not the best ones, I agree. As for the actual meaning, "conception" (according to Merriam-Webster) can refer to "the originating of something in the mind". Surely the reader will understand from the context, that in this case "conception" means "originating", that is "зарождение", and not "понятие".
