Russian term or phrase: приблизившагося
This comes from a 19th-century document, in which a prospective groom asks that a substitute certificate of birth be drawn up due to the difficulty of obtaining one from the distant parish in which he was born: "...но так как, по случаю приблизившагося срока венчания, он встречает затруднение в истребовании такового свидетельства из отдаленного прихода..." I can guess that the word "приблизившагося" means something like "proximity, nearness," etc., but haven't found it in any of my reference books.
