goats and cattle Explanation: These are two versions of the official UN doc E/C.19/2009/4: In Russian Община также получила *крупный и мелкий рогатый скот* для разведения на фермах, и начали осуществляться садоводческие проекты. http://documents-dds-ny.un.org/doc/UNDOC/GEN/N09/244/76/pdf/... In English The community has also received *cattle and goats* to start farming, and garden projects have been introduced. http://documents-dds-ny.un.org/doc/UNDOC/GEN/N09/244/74/pdf/... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 29 mins (2012-11-15 18:24:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Please note that: 1) the document was originally in English and translated into Russian; 2) in contrast to your word order the word order in the document is reversed (1 - "крупный = cattle" and 2 - "мелкий = goats"). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2012-11-16 05:52:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Goats is a general term used for a biological subfamily Caprinae, which includes both goats and sheep. In Russian "мелкий рогатый скот" refers to farm animals that belongs to this biological subfamily. Both goats and sheep belong to the same biological genus Ovis. For more info please see: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Мелкий_рогатый_скот http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Козьи http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheep http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Овца -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 hrs (2012-11-16 06:00:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- And finally, pigs is a different biological family Suidae.
