В таком контексте, например: "все свои", "среди своих". То есть, люди, с которыми отдыхаешь душой, чувствуешь себя раскрепощенно, непринужденно и т. д. "Friends and family" не пойдет, потому что в этом же абзаце отдельно встречается "круг друзей и родных".
