I am aware that this term has been brought up before, but the evidence provided to back up the translation "information field" was totally inappropriate-- it came from the FDA website and even a cursory look at the context there (http://www.fda.gov/downloads/AboutFDA/ReportsManualsForms/Fo... shows that the use of this word combination had nothing to do with marketing.

The term has come up this time on a list of services offered by a PR firm. Looking for input from people who know marketing.

Context is less than helpful, since the term in question is one on a list of other terms, but here 'tis:
