Russian term or phrase: Спорим на пять штук
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with the above phrase. It has come up in a conversation between two people arguing about something. The dialogue is within a comedy context so the general tone is ironic.
Is it a set phrase or a saying? I thought it sounded like it might mean something along the lines of either 'splitting hairs' or 'chewing someone's ear off'.
I would be grateful if anyone could shed any light on this.
Many thanks,
Nathalie

agree  katerina turevich: basic meaning is correct, but it depends on the surrounding context how you would phrase it. : "I bet 5 k" is a possibility
