Breath holding spells are the occurrence of episodic apnea in children, possibly associated with loss of consciousness, and changes in postural tone. Breath holding spells occur in approximately 5% of the population with equal distribution between males and females. They are most common in children between 6 and 18 months and usually not present after 5 years of age.

Nisam sigurna koliko sam vam pomogla, jer mi se čini da u vašem kontekstu nisu mislili na klasično zacenjivanje kod dece, već možda više na prestanak disanja (apnea) ili napad kašlja koji je toliko jak i nezaustavljiv da dolazi do zastoja disanja (fit of coughing). Ovo poslednje je i opcija koju Sofija Mićić daje u svom Medicinskom rečniku: zacenjivanje - fit of coughing. Ona navodi još i whoop, ali to je posebno zacenjivanje koje se vidi kod tzv. velikog kašlja (pertusisa). Da li se nešto od ovoga uklapa u vaš kontekst?
