agree  Mark Daniels: I BELIEVE there's a slight difference in that the nave refers to the area where the congregation sits, whereas the naos is the entire main body of the church interior, but I think they are used interchangeably - I have certainly always translated it thus.

disagree  Mira Stepanovic: Sorry, no, naos (or cella) is not the same as nave (brod u crkvi) http://www.thefreedictionary.com/cella 2. In Byzantine architecture, the area of a centrally planned church in which the liturgy is performed. (2.94 m too small for main body of a church)

Brod je arhitektonski pojam i predstavlja zasvođenu celinu crkve. Brodovi su međusobno povezani, kod većih crkava prolazima između stubova. Crkva može imati samo jedan naos ali se može sastojti iz više brodova pa tako imamo višebrodne crkve - trobrodne, petpbrodne, itd.:

Crkva je danas, usled mnogobrojnih obnova, petobrodna građevina sa tri apside na istovčnoj strani, dimenzija 18.5 x 16 metara[1]. Njen središnji čine oltarski deo, naos sa centralnim brodom visine 6.3 metra i narteks, dok se u bočnim delovima nalaze tutorsko odeljenje (na severu) odnosno skrivnica i grobnica svetog Prokopija (na jugu).
