Estoy traduciendo un texto sobre un sistema de plantación vertical. La empresa que la vende describe aquí sus principales características y ventajas. Me he encontrado con dificultades a la hora de traducir lo siguiente:

Manto vegetal.

Contexto: Con X creamos jardines o huertos sin necesidad de suelo, aumentamos así el manto vegetal de nuestras ciudades y contribuímos a mejorar la calidad del aire de nuestro entorno.

With X, we create gardens and vegetable patches without the need for soil, thereby increasing the (?) in our cities and contributing to the improvement of air quality in our environment.

neutral  liz askew: hi, this is a relatively new thing though, i.e. buildings covered with plants vertically, so not really green spaces, which are non-vertical, if you see what I mean:)
