Carga de asignación familiar

English translation: dependant (for family allowance purposes)

Gracias.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Asignación familiar and Carga familiar are not the same, what I am talking about in the question is "carga familiar" which refers to a person. For instance, my sister depends financially on my mom, but in the health system she is her father's "carga familiar". Thanks!

-> Yes, like I said, family allowance. I don't see what you're disagreeing with.

agree  David Hollywood: "dependant" on its own is fine IMO

agree  Robert Carter: Per Taña's (and Francois') link below: "Si los beneficiarios o sus cargas familiares dejan de cumplir uno o más requisitos...", so "carga" is clearly someone related to the "beneficiario" here.

Notes to answerer
Asker: In fact, "Asignación familiar" I believe refers to the amount of money. What I am talking about is "carga de asignación familiar", "carga" meaning the person. My sister, for instance, is the "carga" of her dad in the health system.

disagree  philgoddard: The context shows, and Thomas has clearly stated, that "carga" refers to a person. And why would there be a charge for a subsidy?

-> Thomas is wrong! Look at the definition from Chile!

disagree  Robert Carter: The context is "Quiénes son considerados cargas", so "quiénes" clearly refers to people, not costs.

I am not 100% sure that carga here is a burden, but rather an allocation or a charge as you said before. Burden, IMO, has negative connotations, almost one of "weight".

It is a state-subsidized program(me), yes, but I would not use subsidy!
