PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATOR - I AM STUDYING TRANSLATION SPANISH/ENGLISH
I would like to know if this translation from Spanish to English is right. I have translated bachillerato as A Level as a translation of bachillerato since the target audience is British.
This is the Spanish text:
Tendrán preferencia para acceder a este ciclo formativo quienes hayan cursado la modalidad de bachillerato de Ciencias y Tecnología.

My translation: Those who have completed the Science and Technology studies at A levels will be given priority to access this training cycle.

or Those who have completed the Science and Technology Bachillerato (equivalent to English baccalaureate) will be given priority to access this training cycle.
Thanks a lot.

English translation:Baccalaureate in SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY:
Explanation:
This could be an option, although I prefer Reuben's suggestion.
In some of the references, "Baccalaureate" appears to refer to a degree, and in others, an entry-level qualification required to enter the degree course, which tends to muddy the waters...

Baccalaureate
/ˌbakəˈlɔːrɪət/
noun
1.- An examination intended to qualify successful candidates for higher education.
2.- A university bachelor's degree.
"baccalaureate degrees"

And -pax Carol- IMHO the different possible solutions posted so far illustrate that this is indeed a PRO level query.

Higher Education Entrance Qualifications in Science and Technology

Explanation:
See reference for an explanation on translating diplomas.

This is tricky. Translators are not qualified to evaluate equivalency for diplomas, certificates, credits, etc. There are bodies for that.
Translators ARE qualified to translate a description of what the qualifiications acquired from the studies are.

in this case they are studies that allow entry into higher education.

Your translation is good, I would just subsitute "A levels" with "Higher Education Entrance Qualifications".

Those who have completed [the Higher Education Entrance Qualifications in Science and Technology] will be given priority to access this training cycle.

Translation of Secondary School Certificates
Students leave secondary school with different levels of qualification in the different countries. It is not possible to say that “Abitur” in German is exactly the same as “Baccalauréat” in France or “A Level” in the UK.

In this case, it is better to translate the qualifications acquired in a descriptive way as Higher Education Entrance Qualifications, for example. This is the common thing between all the certificates issued by different countries and secondary schools – that they allow the person to continue with their tertiary education.
