A "paro académico" usually refers to students protesting by stopping academic activities. I think "boycott of classes" is the closest equivalent, although "student strike" was a fairly common term back in the day.

I realise it is unusual not to select the most voted-for answer, but for me, this is the right answer as it relates to students taking action rather than teaching staff (which would be an academic/university strike).
