Reference Reference information: I'm not sure if this is particularly helpful but if you want to read it, the information is on page 44. Economics As a non-profit organization, SIGAUS uses 100% of its revenues for the recovery and recycling of used oil, financing all life-cycle used oil operations and implemented by contracted companies. As stated in the law, this financing comes from lubricant makers participating in SIGAUS (and materialized by a 0.06-euro-per-kilo tax on lubricants sold in the Spanish market). Through this system, lubricant makers and importers fulfil their obligations for the management of lubricants once they become used oil. https://wedocs.unep.org/bitstream/handle/20.500.11822/7760/-... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 mins (2018-08-22 18:11:42 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Yes, after I posted this reference, I realised that you know what it is but I've decided to leave it here anyway. |

Reference: refs. Reference information: hasty search - Directive 75/439/EEC on the disposal of waste oils1 , amended by Directive 87/101/EEC is designed to create a harmonised system for the collection, treatment, storage and disposal of waste oils, such as lubricant oils for vehicles and engines. The Directive also aims to protect the environment against the harmful effects of such operations. Waste oils are hazardous because they are carcinogenic. Untreated waste oils that are found in rivers, lakes and streams can threaten aquatic life, while soil contamination results from untreated oils being left on the ground. http://ec.europa.eu/environment/archives/waste/reporting/pdf... http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/framework/pdf/facsheet... https://www.tradebe.co.uk/waste-oil-disposal |
