historical situation of equipment obtained in GMAO Explanation: suggestion Mike -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 47 mins (2011-07-06 18:33:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I am not sure; however, I am assuming it means the equipment that was obtained while using the computerized maintenance management system, which, of course implies that a different system was used before and/or after the CMMS. Is that feasible? Are there different systems that could have been in use before or after CMSS? |

(Nivel de detalle de la) situación de históricos de equipos obtenidos en GMAO (Detailed) history for equipment obtained in the CMMS Explanation: Doesn't seem particularly ambiguous to me. I just read it as whatever process is being referred to must be capable of maintaining a 'detailed history for equipment obtained in the CMMS' (Computerised Maintenance Management System), i.e., any hardware/software changes, maintenance, etc. Hope this helps. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-07-06 18:48:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Hi Comunican, from my own experience of managing a helpdesk, I'm pretty sure they're using 'obtained' here to indicate that equipment may be automatically logged in the CMMS by the system. This would normally just be 'logged' on the system by operators (or whatever IT staff), but 'obtain' is used to distinguish that it may not be logged/tracked by humans. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-07-06 18:51:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- CMMS systems usually have a 'discovery mode' in which the system searches for unique machines (by IP address) and automatically loads them into an equipment inventory, where it keeps a detailed history of that equipment, be it servers, desktops, laptops, printers or whatever... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-07-06 18:52:59 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Maybe putting it '...obtained BY the CMMS' might be slightly less ambiguous...? |
