Spanish term or phrase: soporte solidario

Hi,

I posted this question as a Law/Gaming question but I'm not convinced by the only answer suggested, which nobody confirmed and I have seen the previous answers to this term but neither were confirmed by other Proz answerers, hence this new posting in the hope that an IT expert can shed some light.

Please see context:

a) Las denominadas “AM” o multifunción, entendiéndose por tales aquellas que dispongan de un **soporte solidario**, una pantalla de video o de un soporte físico o análogo compuesto de un mecanismo y mandos de juego, que permita cambiar su juego mediante la sustitución de un programa, el cambio de una placa electrónica o de un soporte informático.

The file I'm translating was originally in Euskera:

a) Funtzio anitzeko makinak edo «AM» izenekoak: euskarri solidarioa dute, bideo-pantaila edo euskarri fisiko edo analogo bat, mekanismoak eta joko-aginteak, hartara programa bat ordezkatu bitartean edo xafla elektroniko edo euskarri informatiko bat aldatu bitartean jokoz aldatu ahal izateko.

The term appears once again in the document:

En el caso de máquinas cuyo juego pueda ser cambiado mediante la sustitución de su programa o mediante cambio de una placa electrónica o de un soporte informático, podrá inscribirse como modelo el **soporte solidario** compuesto de un mecanismo y dispositivos de juego, si bien únicamente podrán explotarse en dichos modelos aquellos juegos cuyos programas intercambiables hayan sido debidamente inscritos en la Sección de Modelos.

I wonder if it could refer to the "casing" in which the hardware is housed".

As per these refs: Also, as industry standard gaming machines are 23" deep, they vary in width between 22" and 27", and hence a casing (to house any one machine) needs a front opening at least 27" wide. http://www.prior-ip.com/patent/4059594/

This implies the mechanism and casing design of these gaming machines can become more compact...

You know, support contracts do have part numbers and order processing adminstrators enter these part numbers in the information systems to activate the contract for computer equipment. The contract admin registers the support contract and all the part numbers for the HW and SW components that are covered by the contract.

Of course solidario does NOT translate into solid. Or maybe it's the backplane where the game cards are installed? I believe that with the context provided there is no way to actually know what they are talking about.

They seem to be referring to the distinct components of type "A" gaming machines and the "soporte solidario" is one such component. Of course, I have a bit more context that leads me to believe this.

Or it could mean that a very affordable support contract is either optional or bundled with the equipment? To provide the consumer with the option of having the game cards or interfaces replaced, and that the support contract may be registered in a HW/SW support contract system, that would allow it to be registered with coverage for the interchange of games listed in the Models/Part Numbers Section?
Or it could be referring to a bundled product that might include equipment and support services, or maybe a base?
I've read it a few times and really hadn't dared to comment, because I really can´t grasp what they mean with the whole paragraph.

Creo que se refiere a un dispositivo interno de almacenamiento de daots - memoria no volatil (HDD o SSD). Un "soporte informatico" para los datos.
Seguramente no tiene nada que ver con el servicio de soporte técnico para los usuarios.

A bit of a redundancy in English IMO.
"Solidario" really just means caring and sharing, supporting, "let's-all-stick-together" so I assume they just mean backup/support.
I wouldn't insert "technical" because in my experience Spanish tends to overuse the word and IMO if they'd wanted it in, they'd have used it. The fact they chose "solidario" suggests to me they are simply trying to convey a spirity of mutual support/help among equals/peers, rather than some all-knowing "technical" expert to solve any problems that crop up.

Asker: I know this doesn't support your answer, but I've provisionally used the term "cabient", (still waiting for a response from the client) taking into account the second context where the term appears: "En el caso de máquinas cuyo juego pueda ser cambiado mediante la sustitución de su programa o mediante cambio de una placa electrónica o de un soporte informático, podrá inscribirse como modelo el soporte solidario compuesto de un mecanismo y dispositivos de juego, si bien únicamente podrán explotarse en dichos modelos aquellos juegos cuyos programas intercambiables hayan sido debidamente inscritos en la Sección de Modelos." translated as "In the case of gaming machines whose game is changeable through the replacement of the program or by changing a circuit board or piece of hardware, machines comprising a cabinet, housing a gaming mechanism and gaming devices, may be registered as a model, although, only games whose interchangeable programs have been duly registered in the Models Section may be used in said models."
