Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - IT (Information Technology) / ADSL-IP, NEBA, Broadband Network Services
Spanish term or phrase: en las centrales ...
The term that I am having trouble with here is centrales. The sentence occurs when discussing a model to measure the cost of implementation of broadband services of ADSL-IP and NEBA.

I have looked for a good translation of 'centrales' but I just get 'plant' or 'switchboard', and I don't think it's quite either of these. I take it it means the central place from which the broadband connection goes out within a certain region/area.

I would appreciate any help possible in finding the right translation!

Kind Regards,

Bea

Explanation:
Another suggestion based on the context you have provided.

Example sentence(s):
  • ADSL services have reduced throughput the further you are from the exchange. The further you are from the exchange the fewer Broadband signals are available to carry data. (ref. 1)
  • Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) involves running fibre optic cables from the telephone exchange or distribution point to the street cabinets which then connect to a standard phone line to provide broadband. (ref. 2)
