Spanish term or phrase: indecir
la Nueva Gramática de la lengua española (2009) señala la la proximidad de ambas unidades con “las unidades características de la gramática del discurso o del texto” “en cuanto que los elementos sobre los que indicen pueden caracterizarse por mayor amplitud y complejidad sintáctica.”

It's from a text about evidential markers, two conjunctions.

I think it could be the verb 'indecir', but I can only find one very convoluted reference to that word here: https://books.google.es/books?id=qDXoBQAAQBAJ&pg=PA362&lpg=P...

I'd appreciate any information you could share.

From my point of view, Spanish grammarians always seem to prefer to complicate things rather than simplifying them. In the context provided, it simply means "elements influenced or affected".
