Medical - Medical: Cardiology / Neurology/Neurosurgery
Spanish term or phrase: DCI
This appears in a Neurosurgery hospital (Canarias) discharge summary (part of a mentoring exercise) where an aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage has been diagnosed. The sentence appears in the Historia Actual paragraph and the immediate context is as follows (problem acronym marked *).

'Durante su ingreso en UMI se extuba sin incidencias no mostrando focalidad neurologica y DTCC sin vasoespasmo. La evolucion es favorable y tras descartar isquemia periprocedimiento a las 48 h de la arteriografia, se hace seguimiento de posible *DCI* que no ha desarrollado...'

Hope this is enough context...? I have looked at Cosnautas, ProZ term search and various other sources and found several different meanings for DCI in Spanish, but none seem to quite fit. All comments much appreciated.

Notes to answerer
Asker: 'Delayed cerebral ischaemia' was what I had originally, but was put off by the use of the English acronym. Is this common in medical texts? GCS for Glasgow Coma Scale/Score is used elsewhere in this text. Best wishes, Mary. Mary
