Spanish term or phrase: Motricidad dirigida y motricidad provocada
I'm revising a document about swallowing disorders in children with cerebral palsy from Spanish (Ecuador) to English (US) and I'm not sure how to translate the above term. The sentence is:

"Motricidad dirigida: al contacto ligero del dedo del examinador en la porción epidérmica de los labios, esto se cierran cuando no hay hambre, en cambio cuando el niño siente hambre él abre la boca y busca con avidez el contacto con el dedo del examinador, la lengua sigue al dedo en sus movimientos de un lado al otro."

I have found this clarification "Se llama motricidad dirigida al conjunto de respuestas motrices conseguidas por estimulaciones visuales, auditivas, exteroceptivas" (p. 64 at: http://dspace.unach.edu.ec/bitstream/51000/972/1/UNACH-EC-TE...

The translator has used "assisted movement". I have also seen "goal-directed movement" in the context of limb movements, but I'm not sure if it would be the same here.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

agree  philgoddard: Externally triggered. There's no hyphen, because it's an adverb.
