oh dear! 10:35 Jun 21, 2010
have to admit that I hadn't realised I'd said anything particularly controversial! Sorry if I inadvertantly ruffled a few feathers!
In fact this perhaps raises several points that would make good forum fodder: when is an answer sufficiently original/different to existing ones to count as an answer in its own right? This is clearly debatable! Generally, my experience has been that in such cases, people usually post an Agree, along with the amended suggestion, and possibly an explanation. Having said that, I have certainly made this same mistake on more than one occasion - and for exactly the same reason (that "dribble" as Deborah so nicely puts it!). However, I always thought that it was simply a matter of some sort of unwritten KudoZ rule that this was not done intentionally, and I for one have always acted accordingly on discovering my "mistake". Anyway, clearly I was labouring under some misapprehension, and no such code exists. And, yes, I agree that "dribbles" of suggestions can be annoying, but we are ALL guilty of this on occasion, and this sort of brainstorming can be very productive for this type of marketing question. I for one have always found this to be the case.. |
