Es una carrera relativamente nueva en Uruguay (la oferta académica tiene poco más de 10 años, dentro de la Facultad de Humanidades de la Universidad de la República. La primera generación de graduados, de la que surgieron algunos de los docentes actuales de la tecnicatura, se formaron con el gran Martínez de Sousa, quien estuvo por acá en la primera edición de la Tecnicatura), pero que cada día gana más adeptos, entre otras cosas porque escribir correctamente en nuestro idioma es (o debería ser) transversal a cualquier otra profesión o carrera (muchos alumnos toman solamente algunas materias, como optativas de otras carreras dentro de esta misma facultad o de otra). Otro tema es el campo laboral, que luego se pueda conseguir trabajo como "Corrector de estilo", porque hay muy pocas editoriales acá o clientes dispuestos a pagar una corrección de estilo. En ese aspecto, en España están mucho más adelantados que nosotros. Te mando un gran saludo.

Exactamente. Una tecnicatura son estudios universitarios (se requiere haber culminado los estudios secundarios/bachillerato) de menor duración que una licenciatura.
Is your text Argentinean? All references I find related to "tecnicatura" come from Argentina. "Tecnicatura" is included in the DRAE, but it is an unknown term in Spain.
Yes, I think the closest translation is copyediting. As for the duration, formally it's a two-year degree, hence the "Tecnicatura" (provided you take all 5 or 6 mandatory/elective courses per semester), but I don't know anyone that completes it in that timeframe because almost all students are working full-time and/or pursuing other degree while taking this course.
It's copyediting, but I'm not sure about tecnicatura. Previous questions have translated it as "technical degree", which I disagree with, and "associate degree". How long does it take?
Based on the link you posted in this thread earlier, it seems to refer to "text correction", which seems to refer to a very technical and online kind of correction of texts.
Maybe I sould have posted just "corrección de estilo", because that's what I want to know how to translate into English. As I said, it's not a matter of this specific course (it was just for reference), I want to translate "corrección de estilo" in general, applicable to any "corrección de estilo" course/degree.
The first link was just a reference. I'm taking this course and it does not involve correcting just typographic errors, it's scope is much broader than that. "Corrección de estilo" is a professional activity widely extended in most Spanish-speaking countries. https://redacte.org/about/
