Dans un texte sur Otello, l'opéra de Verdi :

Y, aunque los números cerrados hayan sido prácticamente diluidos, la escritura vocal deba más a la declamación que al canto en su sentido tradicional […], Otello es una ópera italiana de principio a fin.

Je ne trouve rien de très probant sur ce "números cerrados". Sur cette page (http://www.classiquenews.com/applaudir/lire_article.aspx?art... je trouve "ce pourrait-être le seul "air", ou numéro fermé de la partition, s'il n'était si court..", mais je ne suis pas convaincue.
