canalha Explanation: "un rato" means "um momento"; the feminin, "rata", is the animal, "rata" or "ratazana". In slang, means a person who is deemed to be despicable, i.e., "canalha" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 34 days (2006-05-04 20:39:28 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- I find the portuguese word "canalha" most adequate, once it comes from the latin word which also means an animal, "canis" ("dog"). |
